This friendly group welcomes you to Japan's rich world of artistic animation. Our focus is limited series, an institution in Japanese late-night television. These are not like American TV shows that just add more episodes until the ratings drop. They are planned as complete stories in 12-26 half-hour episodes, sometimes with just one writer and one director. Like movies, most suck, but some are brilliant. We will be watching the brilliant ones. Japanese TV has four seasons corresponding to the q …

You've mastered the art of solitude, and you're your your own best friend, maybe you're painfully shy. A walk, a factory tour, a county fair, a lecture, a concert, a wine tasting, a ho …

December 22, 2012 Today was the day to bring lesbians together of all ages who would like to go to dinners, movies, walks, breakfast, start a book group, picnics, good Theater, or classical music and even the opera. As I was perusing the various groups I clearly noticed, that lesbians of all ages were left out of the picture. Hey, I know I'm still active and I bet all of you are too. No point counting the years when the fun will go away, let's enjoy these years to the fullest and get back into l …

Sometimes it can feel like very few men are interested in talking about anything deeper than sports, entertainment, or current events. Yet, there is so much that bonds us guys together, especially after the age of 30 - triumphs like marriage and children, and challenges...like marriage and children. I came up with the idea for this group after several weeks of thinking about how different I am now from when I was 19; how I feel so much wiser and more thoughtful, and yet so much less in control t …
The purpose of this group is to bring together people who are single, over 55, and would love to discuss their favorite, or even someone else's favorite book or movie. Poetry, short stories, plays, novels, history, philosophy, science, not necessarily in that order, classics that are worthy of discussion, current and past, western and non-western, these are the works we discuss. The discussion is what is most important. We discuss these works to enlarge our understanding of the ideas that shape our culture and gain a deeper appreciation for what it means to be human.

So this year we are celebrating 60 years with 007. Sure, Skyfall is a great movie, but what about the books? We'll be reading Ian Fleming's books starting with Casino Royale. Sure we'll talk about the movies: George Lazenby et al but it'll be fun to actually read the original intents. The locales of these books run the gamut from Las Vegas to London to Istanbul to Jamaica to Mahe Island. Hopefully we can find bars/restaurants that correspond to the locales and rap.
Get together and discuss in great details movies from past to present. All genres think of your weekly book club but instead of books we discuss movies.
